TASTE OF ELEGANCE CHEF’S WINE AND FOOD COMPETITION/AUCTION
Tickets: $85 (limited to 400)
Location:
University of Denver School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management
Denver's premier wine and food pairing competition, featuring
samplings of expertly created cuisine paired with Gold Medal Winning
Wines from our upcoming 2007 Denver International Wine Competition.
Attendees will taste Gold Medal Winning Wines chosen through a
blind tasting, from an accredited panel of judges.
From
those wines, competing chefs will create "Iron Chef"
style dishes to pair with them. In addition, a live and silent
auction will take place prior to the award ceremony.

Continue the enjoyment of "Denver Wine Week" by joining
us for a full day of beautiful Colorado scenery, while tasting
Colorado wines. We'll depart from the Denver Warwick
Hotel on a motor coach where parking is complimentary.
Our first stop wil be at Celestial Seasonings for a
tour and tasting. We will continue on to three wineries
-- Boulder Creek, Bonaquisti and Balistreri Wineries.
You'll get to meet the winery owners and/or winemakers.
During your tour you will be escorted by a trained sommelier and
enjoy a catered lunch and afternoon appetizers.

are cordially invited to attend a very rare and intimate vintner's
dinner showcasing wines from Castello Banfi. Castello Banfi is
a family-owned vineyard estate and winery in the Brunello region
of Tuscany. Together with its sister estates in Piedmont, Vigne
Regali and Principessa Gavi, it has become recognized the world
over for its dedication to excellence and sparking a renaissance
in the art of
Italian winemaking.
The
dinner will be hosted by Cristina N. Mariani-May, family proprietor
of Banfi Vintners. A spectacular multi-course paired menu has
been created by the HRTM School's Executive Chef Paul Schutt.
Guests will be served in the grand foyer of The University of
Denver's newly constructed School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism
Management.
The
dinner will be co-hosted by Christopher and Darcy Davies, Co-Founders
of
Wine Country Network. Their company is the producer of The Denver
International Wine Festival. The Davies' have recently established
the John S, Davies scholarship endowment to honor Mr. Davies father
who was a chef and hospitality management professional. 100% of
the net proceeds will benefit a new scholarship fund designated
for students of The University of Denver School of Hotel, Restaurant
and Tourism
Management (HRTM), Daniels College of Business. This inaugural
fundraiser marks the launch of the John S. Davies Endowment Fund,
a fund that has been created to form a perpetual annual scholarship
benefiting students of the HRTM school.
Your
support of this new endowment will help future students expand
their careers in the hotel and restaurant fields.

& The Driscoll Center Over 450 imported and domestic wines
will be showcased by over 100 wineries from numerous areas around
the globe.
Wine
Country International magazine's editors have personally selected
premium wines based on quality, region and varietal. The "Grand
Tasting" will include foods created by gourmet producers
and Colorado restaurants.
The
festival will also include selected spirits, exhibits by luxury
travel destinations, fine art and wine paraphernalia. This one-day
event will also feature the Award-Winning Wines from the Denver
International Wine Competition and a silent auction.A variety
of optional Educational Seminars will also be offered throughout
the day.
